The Back Story

Honey Heart Benefits

The HoneyHeart watermelon is a rich source of L-citrulline, a powerful amino acid that enhances nitric oxide (NO) production, improving blood circulation, lowering blood pressure, and boosting overall cardiovascular health.

Unlike L-arginine, L-citrulline has higher bioavailability and is absorbed more efficiently as it bypasses liver metabolism, thereby maximizing its benefits. Studies indicate that nearly all ingested natural L-citrulline reaches the bloodstream, aiding in boosting endurance, enhancing performance, and accelerating muscle recovery.

With its natural health benefits, HoneyHeart watermelon is the perfect fuel for an active and healthy lifestyle. "Great for athletes and beneficial for everyday health-conscious individuals pursuing wellness."

Enhanced Muscle Protein Synthesis

Enhanced Delivery:  L-citrulline supplementation was found to enhance the delivery of essential amino acids to muscle cells, further promoting protein synthesis.

Protein Synthesis: L-citrulline has gained attention for its potential to enhance muscle protein synthesis, a crucial process for muscle growth.

Decreased Muscle Soreness

Muscle Soreness: Muscle soreness is a common occurrence after intense exercise, and finding ways to alleviate it is crucial for optimal recovery

Faster Recovery:  In a recent study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research in 2021, researchers examined the effects of L-citrulline supplementation on muscle soreness in resistance-training men

Metabolic Waste Products:  The improvement can be attributed to L-citrulline’s role in enhancing blood flow and nutrient delivery to the muscles, which aids in the removal of metabolic waste products, such as lactic acid.

Increased Energy Levels

Urea Cycle: A study published in the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology in 2011, L-citrulline plays a crucial role in the urea cycle, a process in the liver that helps remove toxic ammonia from the body.

Aids in Detoxification: By facilitating the conversion of ammonia into urea, L-citrulline aids in detoxification and prevents energy-draining ammonia build-up.

Enhanced Immune Function

Immune Cell Production: A study published in the journal of Nutrients in 2019 demonstrated that L-citrulline supplementation increased the production of immune cells, such as lymphocytes and natural killer cells, which are vital for immune defence.

Antioxidant Properties: L-citrulline possesses antioxidant properties that help combat oxidative stress and inflammation, both of which weaken the immune system.

Natural & Safe: In a study published in the Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition in 2012, researchers found that L citrulline reduced oxidative stress markers and enhanced antioxidant enzyme activity.

Improved Erectile Function

Nitric Oxide Production: L-citrulline has shown promise in improving erectile function through its impact on blood flow and the production of nitric oxide (NO).

Increased Blood flow: Nitric oxide is a key player in achieving and maintaining erections as it relaxes the smooth muscles in blood vessels, allowing them to expand and increase blood flow to the penis.

Arginine Levels: L-Citrulline led to increased levels of arginine, which is converted into nitric oxide, resulting in improved blood flow and enhanced erectile response.

Erectile Dysfunction:  Researchers found that daily supplementation with 1.5 grams of L-Citrulline significantly improved erective function in men taking medications known to cause ED

Promotion in Wound Healing

Accelerating Tissue Repair: When it comes to wound healing, L-citrulline plays a crucial role in supporting the process and accelerating tissue repair.

Stimulating Collagen Synthesis: Research published in the journal "Wound Repair and Regeneration" in 2016 found that L-citrulline promotes wound healing by stimulating collagen synthesis, the production of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and the migration of cells involved in tissue repair.

Oxygen & Nutrients: L-citrulline helps in the formation of collagen fibres, aiding in the wound closure process. Additionally, L-citrulline enhances angiogenesis, allowing for improved blood flow to the wound site, which supplies oxygen and nutrients necessary for healing.

About L-Citrulline

Watermelon is the major source of L-citrulline. L-citrulline is a neutral non-essential amino acid. Amino acid increases nitric oxide production in your body. Nitric Oxide widens blood vessels and improves blood circulation and lowers blood pressure.

It increases exercise performance, activity capabilities and decreases muscle soreness. As L-citrulline is not used by the intestine or metabolised by the liver, it possesses high bioavailability following oral administration and a highly specific metabolism.

In one study, all the citrulline (105% +-7% SEM) administered directly into the gastric tract was absorbed and appeared in the plasma. On the other hand, only around 30% of arginine administered by the same method reached the plasma, as most of the arginine is broken down by the liver
